Turkish fashion designer Emre Erdemoğlu presented an unforgettable show with his 2027 Autumn/Winter collection, “West of Eden.” Inspired by the overlooked cowgirl figure of American Western culture, the collection reflected a revolution of women who write their own rules of freedom and courage.
Inspiration: A Paradise Born from the Ashes of the West
“West of Eden” is the story of women who didn’t abandon paradise but instead rebuilt it… The collection is dedicated to women who defy the prohibitions of the past and write their own rules, drawing inspiration from legendary figures like Annie Oakley, Lucille Mulhall, and Calamity Jane.
Erdemoğlu describes the soul of the collection: “To the east of Eden there was sin, but in the West, a revolution… The woman didn’t silently ascend to the heavens; she mingled with the dust. ‘West of Eden’ is not a dream; it is the name of a new beginning.”
Colors and Materials
The collection’s color palette is composed of the dramatic contrasts of the wild West: deep blue, midnight navy, blackened earth, dark burgundy, dusty gray, soft brown, crimson copper, soot gray, wine red, shadow blue, dark bronze, night black, and moonlight gray.
In terms of materials, opposing textures like denim, satin, and silk are brought together, reflecting the balance between a tough exterior and a delicate core.
