An Evening of Burlesque rolled up to the Adelphi Theatre on Tuesday October 11th for a night of unforgettable burlesque including stripping (of course), cabaret, comedy, drama, music, circus, a bit of camp fun, titillation, and a lot of cheers, gasps and applause!

    AN EVENING OF BURLESQUE

The UK’s longest running burlesque made its West End debut and proved to seasoned audience members that it is the ultimate variety show.

Hosted by emcee supreme diva (and Las Vegas veteran) Ivy Paige who introduced us to the wonderful world of Burlesque, providing humor, and song, in between acts that had the audience putty in her hands.

There were many many acts on stage, but comedian Christian Lee had us in stitches – and the audience member he chose to ‘assist’ him was more than ready to do so!

It was one gag after another, while Matt Pang also had us in stitches, and holding our breathe, as he recruited three blokey blokes to help him get up into his unicyle – it was both terrifying and hilarious! ‘Marilyn Monroe’ provided the requisite glamour to the stage, serenading another lucky (?) audience member.
Beautiful female strippers were represented by Velvet Jones (reverse striptease), Isabella Bliss and Belle de Beauvoir, while Matt Pang brought his finest Sammy David Jr. impressions, with a damn good voice to boot! But what was missing on the evening was a proper masculine male strip performance! The ladies (and some of the men) in the audience wanted to see a bit of male flesh! And while we got Sebastian Anbelique performing a nice drag and fire sequence, it did not quench our thirst for something more manly! But one of the final songs, sung by Paige – ‘Close to You’ – was beautiful and memorable.

However, expect fun, feathers and fabulous costumes as some of the finest selection of specialty artistes, cabaret and circus stars, comedians and champagne showgirls perform for you! It’s the perfect night for everyone.

The team will be traveling around the UK for the next two months, visiting cities such as Bath, Aberdeen, Southhampton, York, Leicester, St. Albans, Birmingham and Sunderland, among others. Please check the website for the performance schedule.
