Ariana Grande’s ‘The Eternal Sunshine Tour’ Setlist Highlights
The tour began in London following the release of Grande’s latest album, “petal,” which reached No. 1 on both the UK Official Albums Chart and the US Billboard 200.
Throughout the tour, Grande surprised audiences with first-time performances of songs from the new album on different nights. These included “freak,” “kiss me,” “bad thing (bunny hop),” “like i do,” and “warning signs.”
The tour also incorporated Grande’s r.e.m. beauty brand, with her lip products featured throughout the performances. The Fembot Fatale palette used on stage repeatedly sold out on the r.e.m. beauty website.
Makeup artist Michael Anthony and hairstylist Alyx Liu contributed to the tour’s visual presentation through on-stage glam touch-ups, while limited-edition merchandise and dedicated r.e.m. beauty pop-up experiences expanded the brand’s presence around the shows.
Across the 28-date US leg, r.e.m. beauty pop-ups attracted nearly 15,000 guests. In the UK, more than 20,000 visitors attended the brand’s 18-day residency pop-up.
The brand also hosted more than 450 members of its influencer community in branded suites across 31 shows, generating more than 3,000 pieces of social content.
Demand also extended into Ulta Beauty retail channels. The r.e.m. beauty viral bear bag charm sold out within the tour’s first two cities and became one of the brand’s most sought-after merchandise items.
During Grande’s three Chicago dates, r.e.m. beauty became the first brand to introduce Ulta Beauty’s new mobile point-of-sale system, allowing purchases to be processed at the shows. Chicago pop-up visitors also received an early look at and samples of Treble Maker 3-in-1 Mascara.
The pop-up experiences included interactive photo opportunities and makeup applications alongside retail offerings.
Tour Generates More Than 260 Million Social Video Views
r.e.m. beauty maintained a social-first approach throughout the tour, offering fans behind-the-scenes content featuring Grande’s glam routines and performances.
Content included mid-show touch-ups, “get unready with me” videos, Harry Potter impersonations connected to blur butter lip balm and appearances tied to current TikTok trends.
Across Instagram and TikTok, tour-related r.e.m. beauty content generated more than 260 million video views.
The Brighter Days Ahead Foundation Supports 30 Organisations
Alongside the tour, The Brighter Days Ahead Foundation spotlighted and supported 30 organisations across nine tour markets working to protect and support vulnerable communities.
The foundation’s work focused on protecting trans and LGBTQ+ rights, expanding access to mental health care and providing emergency support funds.
In the UK, supported organisations included Micro Rainbow, Trans Solidarity Alliance, The Proud Trust, Save The Children UK, Choose Love and Consortium LGBT.
In North America, the foundation worked with HeadCount and Apathy Is Boring on voter engagement activations at tour shows, helping fans register and access information.
The foundation also partnered with Backline to provide mental health and wellbeing support for Grande’s crew, band and dancers throughout the tour.
Three volunteer events were held alongside tour stops in Los Angeles, New York City and London, with each taking place at a local organisation. The events provided an opportunity for partners and grantees to see the organisations’ work firsthand.
Critics Praise Ariana Grande’s Live Performances
“The Eternal Sunshine Tour” received five-star reviews from The Times, Telegraph, Metro, Rolling Stone UK, Attitude and The London Standard.
In the United States, Billboard described the concert as “an absolutely astonishing vocal showcase” and wrote that “it was like the heavens touching Earth.”
Rolling Stone called it “a triumphant return” featuring “nearly two hours of audiovisual spectacle,” while USA Today described the tour as “a well-earned victory lap” and “a welcome homecoming.”
In the UK, Metro awarded the show five stars and highlighted the “full body chills” generated by Grande’s live vocals. The Times, also awarding five stars, described the performance as “two relentless hours of impossible highs” from “one of pop’s most formidable vocalists.”
The Telegraph gave the tour another five-star review, writing that Grande “immediately stuns with the power, clarity and agility of those phenomenal vocals.”
NME also awarded five stars, describing Grande as a “pop conceptualist” and praising the show’s combination of “gold-plated bops with vibey deep cuts” alongside her “showstopping vocals.”
Meanwhile, the BBC highlighted Grande’s vocal performances, noting “vocal riffs so tremendously colossal they should be registered as the eighth wonder of the world.”
Fan Experiences and Tour Traditions
The tour extended beyond the arena through merchandise pop-ups, fan experiences and city-specific activations.
During the New York mini-residency, Brooklyn featured branded subway elements, an r.e.m. beauty experience at the venue, a merchandise pop-up in SoHo and a merchandise truck outside the Brooklyn venue.
Grande’s 10-night London residency at The O2 included temporary tattoo stations, r.e.m. beauty activations and merchandise experiences.
Across the tour, week-of-show pop-ups offered fans opportunities to purchase vinyl and merchandise and participate in photo booths, letter walls and other interactive activities.
Fans also developed traditions that became part of the concerts. During the encore performance of “we can’t be friends (wait for your love),” audiences participated in a nightly “sit in silence” challenge.
During the second act, crowds also quieted the arena while Grande remixed and looped her own voice live.
The tour’s themes of accepting the past rather than erasing it were reflected in the audience’s fashion choices, with fans arriving dressed as different eras and moments from Grande’s career.
Cynthia Erivo and Ty Dolla $ign Join Grande On Stage
The tour featured several surprise guest appearances.
In London, Cynthia Erivo joined Grande for a reunion performance featuring “For Good” from Wicked, as well as “Happy Days/Get Happy.”
In New York, Ty Dolla $ign joined Grande on stage to perform “Safety Net.”
