My name is Syed Anosh Ali. I am 24 years old. Aging, growing up, hating it. HAHA anyway I am currently doing MBA (Supply Chain) from Iqra University. My main focus is song writing in music. I believe the content should be good and somehow songwriting defines a musician so when I sing something it should portray my soul. Besides that I am a huge nature fan. I love hiking and exploring places especially where mountains are. I am a foodie and huge music lover. My playlist consists of over 2000 songs. Hell yeah that’s true. Coldplay is my main influence in music and I am their huge fan. I am planning to make more and more originals very soon. WORK IN PROGRESS, Always.
1.Hey anosh how are you doing?
I am doing fine Alhamdulliah. Thankyou for having me today.
2.Today, you have deepened your roots in the field of music, singing is not easy and singing with such perfection is tough though, can you please sum up your journey of music uptill now for your fans?
Well, I started off with a gig at Café Eclipse and just by covering songs which I loved the most. The journey so far is full of highs and lows. I am a huge music fan. I like listening music all the time. Literally. So I used to sing along with my favorite songs and so it began in my early teenage and ever since I am only singing and trying to get better and better everyday. And then we did so many gigs, judged so many shows and then suddenly I realized where my music is? I mean what is my identity as a musician? And then things changed and I shifted my energies towards songwriting and I wrote so many songs in that period of 2 years. I guess I wrote over 100 songs but I only have 2 songs ready right now. So, the journey wasn’t easy but I never gave up. People meet me and they think that I am done because I am not performing at gigs these days but I am only getting started.
3.There is always some inspiration, that helps a person to achieve his or her goals and face the hardships with a potential hope, what was that particular inspiration which led you become a musician?
My inspiration is music itself. It’s a part of my life. Good music inspires me to do music better than what I listen or at least different than what others are doing. So basically the hunger of doing different, good and just making and writing my own songs is enough to motivate me. It just gives me satisfaction. Coldplay is my major inspiration of song writing and making music.
4.Anosh why only singing?
Because I am only good at it (Giggles). Well tbh It’s my passion and I just love to sing. I am singing all the time. Some places where I cannot such as class room, I am singing in my mind silently. HAHA. WEIRDO. 😀
5.What are your views on the present music industry?
Currently I think there is no music industry. For me it doesn’t exist. There is no concept of songwriting and producing songs which can be different or just natural or raw or pure like we used to listen back in the day.
6.What do you think is lacking in the present music industry?
There are no such record labels who can sign you or PR agencies that would do things at the base level. Like back in 90’s we had Vital Signs, Junoon and so many other artists making their own music without any hunger of success or only making commercial music. I think that’s missing a big time.
Also the good content and marketing a good content is missing as well. People are not investing in music anymore and we are not having enough gigs for our musicians. Also, they don’t really get paid unless you have good connections, PR or Facebook fans. So basically there is no structure and hence no development.
7.Who was particular support system of yours in your family?
My mother. She is always supportive of me in everything I do. She is a blessing and she also has a very beautiful voice. I inherited some of it from her.
8.What kind of music you are into much, like if you have to choose between jazz, pop , classical etc.
I am more into Indie pop, Blues and soul music.
I feel very blessed and I think there is still a long way to go and I am only preparing for that but it feels very nice when people back you up.
10.Your own composition ASHIYAANO PE was a huge hit? Any story related to this song?
There are many stories related to this song. I had bike in those days and we used to travel on bike for almost 100 kilometers just to find locations and do the shootings. So we were shooting in some bazaar in Rawalpindi and it was very awkward because people used to fight with each other just to get into the camera. It was one lifetime experience.
11.Your upcoming song JHELUM seems unique and different, can you tell your fans about this upcoming song?
Oh yeah, I am very excited actually by this song. I wrote it by sitting next to River Jehlum. This song is about life basically and the idea is that life doesn’t flow as smooth as Jehlum. It has hardships and one cannot be just carefree like Jehlum. See, there are so many stones in the way of Jehlum as well but it just keeps on flowing. So that is the main idea and it sounds beautiful. I just cannot wait to release this one.
12.I m among those who have heard you live, you sing live really good Have you been seeking musical lessons? Or it is a god gifted talent?
No actually I never had any music lesson but my ears have been listening to music ever since I was born and I think It’s natural. It just comes and happens naturally.
13.Any message for your fans?
Thank you for being there always. And I want to apologize as well for not making too many songs but trust me I have been working on my music and hopefully with the next few songs, all of the complaints will just go away. Also I want you all to be there for me in coming months and we will have a good musical ride.
14.Few lines for FABASIA?
FAB ASIA is doing fab work. Especially in recognizing artists like us who needs spotlight. Also, they are encouraging young artists and musicians and that’s very pleasing. My best wishes are with you guys. Keep up the good work.
