London, Thursday 5 April 2018 – A specially commissioned Aston Martin Vanquish S, which pays homage to the Royal Air Force and the Red Arrows Display Team, will take pride of place on the ‘Built In Britain’ feature at The Confused.com London Motor Show 2018.

RAFBF Raffle Winner HumphreyThe special edition Aston Martin Red10 is the perfect tribute to the iconic Red Arrows, displaying the Éclat red colour seen on the Hawk jets, a Union Jack tailfin motif, ‘Smoke Trails’ on side skirts and an Ejection Seat Detonator cord. The V12 engine boasts a top speed of 201mph and can go from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds, giving the feeling of going as fast as the RAF plane.

This one-of-a-kind vehicle is personalised in part of the famous “Diamond Nine” flying formation of the Red Arrows. With attention to detail, the car features a carbon roof with a zig-zag ‘charge’ pattern mimicking the explosives set into jet cockpits fitted to shatter the canopy in case of the pilot needing to eject. The Aston Martin Red10 will be the closest connection to a Royal Air Force jet you can get at this year’s event.

    Aston Martin Car In Hangar
Unique in its reverence to the prowess of the Royal Air Force, which this year celebrates 100 years, the Aston Martin Red 10 not only represents the role of the men and women in the RAF, but the creativity and innovation of UK engineering, design and technology. All the attributes that make it a perfect fit for the all-new ‘Built In Britain’ feature.

The car on display was offered to the public in a raffle where more than 70,000 tickets were bought and over £1.5 million was raised for the RAF Benevolent Fund.

Since its foundation in 1919, the RAF Benevolent Fund has been on hand to support the RAF Family, existing to support current and former members of the RAF, their partners and dependents. An independent charity, it provides assistance to the RAF Family, when in need. It also helps maintain and support the morale and wellbeing of those serving in the RAF in addition to protecting and preserving the RAF Memorial and Bomber Command Memorial in central London.

Alec Mumford, Chairman of The Confused.com London Motor Show, said: “Two great symbols of British prowess, engineering and design come together in this unique Aston Martin Red10 supercar.  There is no better way to show our appreciation for Aston Martin and the Royal Air Force than having this stunning vehicle on our ‘Built In Britain’ feature at this year’s show.”

The car’s owner and winner of the raffle, Humphrey Bradley said: “I was totally shocked to win such an incredible prize – absolutely gobsmacked. I am honoured to have supported a service charity and the RAF Benevolent Fund undertakes some truly incredible work supporting the RAF family. From those on RAF Stations to those veterans in care homes and everyone in between, they really are there for those that need help, every step of the way. As an ex-serviceman myself I know how important the work of charities like the Fund’s is – they make a real difference to real people and to be able to give something back at the London Motor Show is an honour.”

Tickets are currently £18.50 and one child (under 17) goes free with a paying adult. They’re on general sale now and available to purchase at thelondonmotorshow.co.uk.
