Vz Perfection by Vaishali made an indelible mark at the London Fashion Week for the 5th consecutive year, enchanting the audience with newest collection ‘Azure Majesty’.
Azure with its deep, regal blue, resonates like the vast canvas of the sky. It is the tranquil backdrop upon which the Kingfisher flies with grace and vibrance. Together, they compose a visual masterpiece, where the tranquil azure of the heavens converges with the vivacious hues of the bird. In the harmonious symphony of colour and nature, Azure and the Kingfisher found their exquisite duet in Vaishali’s latest SS24 Collection “Azure Majesty”.
Creating a connection between Azure and Kingfisher involves infusing the essence and attributes of both concepts into a cohesive and meaningful narrative which mimics the textures of both such as metallic textiles for the former and feather like textures for the later. Vaishali made this connection in her opening garment, a beautiful Corset Dress paired with an Embellished Shimmering Overlay.
The narrative continued with a stunning Azure Dress before the first Kingfisher took flight on the runway with a gentle teaser on a Jacket with a digital print of the design on a luxurious silk fabric. Vaishali had elevated the collection by working with a local artist Hannah Bruce in creating a custom design of Kingfisher and the slow reveal of the different ways this beautiful design was used in all the garments that followed highlighted the artistic nature of the designer herself.
It was a joy to watch the collection unveil in rich fabrics like silk, satin and velvet in deep azure tones with flowing, ethereal silhouettes in gowns, dresses, capes and jackets exuding pure elegance and evoking a sense of majesty. Kingfishers make their presence felt through stunning hand embroidery work of the Kingfisher design by artisans of India and bespoke digital prints of design incorporated in different ways on the garments.
Known for her dramatic pieces, Vaishali surprised everyone introducing midway a long Azure Jacket with bright orange lining, billowy sleeves and a large stunning embroidery of the Kingfisher design at the back. A piece which made everyone think was the showstopper. Boy oh boy…were we in for a treat later!!
The actual showstopper was an absolute masterpiece with two exquisitely hand embroidered Kingfishers with stunning details of feathers forming the top and an ombre skirt featuring the contrasting colours of Kingfisher Orange, Cyan and Blue and a colourful hand embellished waistband producing a startling flash of colour in motion. A couture symphony between Azure and Kingfisher truly realised!
