What a feast for the eyes and ears in the new show ‘Barbra and Liza Live’ now playing at London’s Charing Cross Theatre.
Steven Brinberg has been performing as Barbra Streisand for decades as his voice uncannily sounds just like La Streisand herself, enough to earn him a living performing as the one and only diva.
In his new show at the Charing Cross Theatre, Brinberg has brought a friend and fellow impersonator Rick Skye who performs in this show as Liza Minelli. It’s a show full of song, stories, humor and deliciousness, and a treat in that Peggy Lee makes an appearance as well (Chuck Sweeney).
Brinberg, in glittering gowns, beautifully sings many of La Streisand’s hit songs from the past including The Way We Were and Don’t Rain on My Parade, and also tells anecdotes of Streisand’s time in London many years past, while Skye sings some of Minelli’s hits including of course Cabaret.
This two part show crescendos with Old Friends, Happy Days and Get Happy and it leaves you wanting more! And thanks to Nathan Martin for his piano playing expertise.
Barbra & Liza Live! is a luscious and perfect show full of song and entertainment enough that the real Streisand and Minelli should enjoy their retirements and allow Brinberg and Skye to continue to perform as them indefinitely!
