Parisian brand BASSCOUTUR challenges the notion of timelessness within a garment, through its clear vision committed to the future of fashion. Beyond upcycling, BASSCOUTUR warps the existing and revisits historical pieces and their material to give them renewed life. With a passion for the innovators in fashion who came before him and the garments they created, Creative Director Riadh sees our responsibility to the environment and the arrival of concepts like up cycling as a solution to the growing amounts of unused stocks of fabric amidst the exponential rise of fast fashion. Since the beginning of his self-taught journey, the desire to develop and push this process has only grown. He hopes that this is the legacy of this era, for the sake of the environment. In 2015, BASSCOUTUR was born.
While simultaneously sensible and innovative, the Parisian label is organized as a collective. An authentic laboratory of ideas, it’s mission is to create modern silhouettes and looks, giving life back to garments and textiles while reconstructing their DNA, diverting them from their obvious past.
For spring-summer 2022, Basscoutur returns with a collection called DNA.
A powerful collection that has been inspired by “gang of friends” and borrows from the Arabic the expression Louled that literally means kids.
The concept of Louled is rediscovering childhood, the one that has never left us, that is deep down and that is reassuring…this sparkle that we need to move forward.
It is also in our DNA, an attitude, a way of being and a return to the roots…
From the radiance of the bougainvillea to the whiteness of the neroli, we find in this collection whites as well as a range of colours: lilac, gray, brown, tye-die and materials such as linen.
This collection also features cotton Djellabas, mesh “hoodies”, men’s trousers adorned with jewels and patchworks of denim recomposed, shifted and divided to revisit a whitened complexion.
At Basscoutur, the DNAs are mixed together, to create the subtlety of all the materials.
This collection is a nostalgic reminder of our past moments, long-held memories, feelings of glee and carelessness.
It is an allure that is shared, an allure for Her and Him.
