Local celebrity Benjamin Zephaniah came home to Birmingham yesterday to record a music video for his brand new song that celebrates World Vegan Month.
The renowned poet, musician and Vegan Society Ambassador, who was born in Birmingham, spent the day yesterday shooting a video for his new song, called Vegans.
The video features Benjamin performing the track, which he had written for Birmingham-based national charity The Vegan Society to mark World Vegan Month.
The shoot took place in Alcmy studios in Birmingham and saw dozens of volunteers turn up to spend the day with the star and perform in the video.
Dominika Piasecka, spokesperson for The Vegan Society, said: “We are very excited about Benjamin’s new song about veganism and we’re sure that it will inspire many people to look into the lifestyle.
“Being vegan is all about happiness and compassion, which we are hoping will show in the music video that Benjamin and our team worked so hard on.
“We would like to wish everyone a happy World Vegan Month and we encourage those who are not yet vegan to take our 30 Day Vegan Pledge at www.vegansociety.com/pledge.”
The music video will be available online from week commencing 20 November. It will be promoted on The Vegan Society’s social media accounts.
