Premieres ‘Big Fan Of The Sesh Vol.1’ short film, shares new track ‘Perdida’
Biig Piig has premiered new single ‘Perdida’ today, alongside short film ‘Big Fan Of The Sesh Vol.1’ (containing all-new music from her forthcoming, debut EP of the same name). The 20-year-old singer and rapper also recently confirmed details of her first headline live show, which will take place at London’s Electrowerkz on April 17th in addition to a series of early festival dates below.
Big Piig is a once-seen-not-forgotten new talent who draws on a unique and diverse upbringing. As a child she experienced a changing landscape of cultures, having been born in Spain and then moved to Ireland (before settling above the London pub her parents still own and run). She first emerged out of the Nine8 Collective, a London-based crew of 27 creatives who collaborate and support each other through the arts. And now, Biig Piig is unknowingly assimilating the kind of life experiences (which also include working as a poker dealer and a tequila bar waitress) that lend her music that blend of maturity, and youthful naivety. It’s all there even in the striking pseudonym of Biig Piig itself, which Jess arrived at after drunkenly reading the name off a pizza menu and relating to its sense of self-acceptance. Coming to terms with who and what you are is also integral to ‘Big Fan Of The Sesh’, in its intimate dissection of that first doomed romance, losing yourself in city life, but ultimately coming out the other side.

26th May – Love Saves The Day, Bristol
3rd August – August – Bestival, Dorset
