If you were offered a low-key heist, no strings attached, that would break you out of your monotonous 9-5 in a diner; would you take it? Academy Award winner Sam Rockwell (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) is made an offer he can’t refuse in the darkly-comic heist thriller BLUE IGUANA, available in cinemas and on digital HD from 5th October, and on DVD October 8th, courtesy of Signature Entertainment.
Ex-jailbirds, Eddie (Sam Rockwell) and Paul (Ben Schwartz; TVs Parks and Recreation), are on parole and work in a New York diner. Eddie is calm and confident, whereas, Paul is loud-mouthed and impulsive. They’re a team, but their lives are at a dead-end. That is, until English lawyer Katherine Rookwood (Phoebe Fox; Eye in the Sky) walks into their diner with an offer of a lifetime. Her plan: to take them to London in pursuit of a valuable gem called the Blue Iguana. Only one man stands in their way of the fabulous piece: the psychotic small-time crime boss Deacon Bradshaw (Peter Ferdinando; High Rise).
From the producer of Edge of Tomorrow and TVs Silicon Valley, BLUE IGUANA is a British-American crime film with guns, a darkly comic script and plenty of mullets thrown in for good measure. Cool charisma, comic book romance and a pop art sensibility make this an absolute must-see for fans of gangster films with a distinctively witty edge.
