London Fashion Week, SS26 – The CEDIM School of Design made a bold statement at its Global Fashion Collective showcase with Fashion Scout, presenting PLAY — a Spring/Summer 2026 collection that redefined play as a radical and creative act.
Seven emerging designers — Lucero Isabel Reyes Martínez, Leslie Valeria Sotelo Pérez, Paulina Barrera Villarreal, Maria Guadalupe Bautista Rocha, Jimena Cifuentes Tamez, Nancy Valeria Rodríguez Jiménez, and Jessica Michelle Olarde Vázquez each explored the contradictions of childhood and adulthood: silence and fantasy, discipline and freedom, oppression and imagination.
Highlights from the runway included:
Lucero Isabel Reyes Martínez apron as a metaphor for lost childhood.
Leslie Valeria Sotelo Pérez transformation of unsent letters into wearable stories.
Paulina Barrera Villarreal deeply personal take on resilience shaped by childhood wounds.
María Guadalupe Bautista Rocha reinterpretation of the suit as an emotional performance.
Ximena Cifuentes Tamez’ Kafkaesque critique of adulthood.
Nancy Valeria Rodríguez Jiménez staging of life as a fleeting circus.
Jessica Michelle Olarde Vázquez celebration of touch as the body’s first language of play.
Together, the designers delivered a powerful collective vision: that play is not trivial, but an act of resistance, creativity, and healing. PLAY urged audiences to reclaim emotion and imagination as essential forces in fashion and in life.
