Today Claire Tagg presented her SS19 collection during London Fashion Week.

The designer presented the collection digitally on her website www.clairetagg.co.uk. As a supporter of the brand, we would like to share with you our SS19 lookbook.

Claire graduated The University Of The Creative Arts Rochester with a 1st class honours in 2017 and debuted her AW18 collection with a presentation with Fashion Scout during London Fashion week. The designer chose to go completely digital this season as she felt that social media is the most important aspect of presenting and promoting a collection.

British designer Claire Tagg continues the fascination with glamour and elaborate print work in her SS19 collection with a much more stylish aesthetic. Pastel print work showcases detailed drawings inspired by Parisian architecture and vintage interiors. Whilst the cut of the collection takes a whole new direction, taking aspects from a 1990’s runway. Despite the more playful aesthetic of the collection, the core identity of the brand remains.

The SS19 season is inspired by a personal story of the travels as an Air Hostess. The designers love for elaborate architecture is why she would regularly travel into Paris on her days away from work. Whenever she wasn’t on the aircraft she would be walking the streets of this beautiful city with her camera, wandering into museums and galleries to find intricate artefacts. Capturing the details of its buildings and is what inspired her to transition into print design which is a memory held close to her heart.

The designer uses digital printing to create beautiful prints, with each element being hand drawn and collaged with rich textures made from layers of ripped paper and acrylic. Each garment is lovingly hand beaded, creating a unique piece every time with no two pieces looking the same. Tagg prefers to spend time hand drawing each print to create something that is perfectly unique.

The tone of the season is fresh and fun, with an elegant clean colour palette, hosting baby pinks and pastel blues. Pastel shades are contrasted with cherry red and highlights of metallic gold draw attention to the decadence within the garments.

The cut of the SS19 collection is as always inspired by formal airline uniforms. The usual structured jackets and blazer style dresses are deconstructed and juxtaposed with fun detailed prints. Tagg keeps her signature statement sleeves which are this season detached from the body as well as her oversized full skirts, constructed in luxurious Duchess Satin. Accessories continue to play a strong part in the brand with beaded fabric belts and luxurious embellished gloves.
