Brighton 4-piece Comforts return with the shimmering new indie stunner ‘Get Out Your Head’, taken from their upcoming EP yet to be announced. Once again showcasing their infectious songwriting, vibrant intertwining guitar lines and euphoric energy, the band deliver another  fine addition to their growing catalogue. LISTEN HERE

Produced & mixed by Alexander Gordon (Sundara Karma, The Cure, Rag ’n’ Boneman among others), the band have gradually built their presence with reviews across tastemaker press, national radio play and placements on Apple Music’s ‘New In Rock’ & ‘New In Alternative’ playlists.

Leaning into the rockier side of Comforts’ repertoire, the track, ‘Get Out Your Head’ moves between chorus tinted guitar lines and subtle yet thoughtful songwriting they’re quickly becoming known for. Encapsulating the audience with high octane energy throughout, walls of fuzzy guitars and amped up chorus are topped with a lead vocal line from Sam’s honest and personal lyricism. Coupled with ever changing charismatic and infectiously catchy vocal-lines, this track offers another vibrant soundscape to yet another indie anthem.

Speaking about the meaning behind the single, Sam explains: “Get Out Your Head is the first song we recorded using a YAMAHA FX500, an audio effects unit from the 80’s. Our producer Gordy had one and we instantly fell in love with the sound. It’s got this huge reverb setting that gives this shoegaze vibe to the intro and then this crazy distortion patch that is way too much but just fits perfectly for the chorus.

Lyrically the song is about someone talking about you behind your back but having the courage to put it past you and remembering your self worth. ‘Just remember, remember who you are, just remember, as these time’s get hard.’ It’s also one of our favourites to play live!”

Melodic and effortlessly catchy Indie-Pop/Rock exploits. Brighton based Comforts have captured both the melancholic, colourful heartstrings of contemporary pop alongside the energetic familiarity of 00’s indie rock giants, all whilst still retaining a fresh and exciting edge. Having already gained tastemaker coverage from the likes of Clout, Earmilk, Atwood Magazine and Gigslutz. The band have had a whole host of BBC Radio plays including, Chris Hawkins on BBC Radio 6 Music and local plays from BBC Introducing. Furthermore the band continue making a name for themselves as an exciting live act to watch, having already been tipped into This Feelings nationally acclaimed ‘Big in 2023’ campaign, which has previously supported a number of breakout bands in the past, including Catfish & the Bottlemen, Blossoms, The Lathums & more. Now back with new material, the band is set for a big year ahead.
