    “Dream’s Gate” Poster Unveiled at 73rd Berlinale International Film Festival The poster for “Dream’s Gate” depicting Kobanî female fighters has been unveiled

    Dreams Gate Poster Unveiled at 73rd Berlinale International Film Festival

    Mansour Jahani – The documentary feature film “Dream’s Gate” directed by Negin Ahmadi and produced by Elaheh Nobakht had its English poster unveiled when featured in the competition category called Generations at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival aka. Berlinale in Germany.

    The poster portrays Kobanî girls in combat with the terrorist group known as ISIS. Designed by Ehsan Barabadi for Berlinale representation, this poster was made to introduce the cinematic production to international audiences.

    “Dreams’ Gate”, a documentary film directed by Negin Ahmadi and produced by Elaheh Nobakht, is a joint production of Iran, France, and Norway, set to have its world premiere in the Generations competition category of the 73rd Berlinale, vying for a prize along with films from various countries.

    It took more than six years to make this film which narrates the story of an Iranian Kurdish girl searching for a part of her identity with her camera, amongst Kurdish girls in Kobani, women who not only rose against ISIS but waged a war for their world.

    This time around, the filmmaker herself, along with her camera, accompanies the female warriors in their encounters with the surrounding world and the values they are fighting for. The company Tasvir Gostar Elaheh Parsi (Eli Image) managed by Elaheh Nobakht has overtaken the production and international distribution of this film. This is the third time Elaheh Nobakht attends Berlinale as a producer, with last year’s feature-length film “The Apple Day” directed by Mahmoud Ghaffari.

    Visit Films will represent worldwide rights for the documentary ‘Dream’s Gate’, which will be world premiering at the Berlinale in the Generations section.

    Synopsis:

    DREAMS’ GATE is a documentary where Iranian female director Negin Ahmadi starts a personal journey into the combat zone of North Syria to question what it means to be a woman. Alone with her camera, she decides to look for an answer for her questions by encountering the women who embody the strongest contemporary myth of female strength and freedom: Kurdish female fighters. The personal search and internal struggles turn into an intimate women diary written in the first person. Following, sharing, witnessing the life of this other Kurdish women put into question the image that the director has of herself and of the cost of equality and freedom in this difficult region.

    Presided by Mariette Rissenbeek with artistic management by Carlo Chatrian, the 72nd Berlinale will be held from 16-26 February, 2022, consisting of competition sections such as Main Competition, Generations competition, Forum, Shorts, Documentary, and the non-competition category including Panorama, Special Screening, and Classic Cinema Screening.
