‘Eiffel’ is a faithful and well told film about Gustave Eiffel (Romain Duris) as he embarks on the monumental task of designing and constructing one of the world’s best-loved landmarks – the Eiffel Tower – which shaped the skyline of Paris and the future of the city.

‘Eiffel’ is visually stunning and superbly ties in a relationship he has with a long lost love – Adrienne Bourgès (Emma Mackey) – to present us one of the best romantic stories of this year.

Set in 1880s Belle Époque Paris, the film follows Eiffel as he embarks upon the all-consuming task of designing and constructing the Eiffel Tower. His struggle, determination, will, perseverance and passion overcame the naysayers who believed that the tower would be a monstrosity, overshadowing the city. His relationship with Bourgès had an impact on Eiffel throughout his life and the film goes into detail and shows how they were reunited many years later which helped to give him the determination and will to succeed in building one of the worlds greatest monuments.

‘Eiffel’ is now in UK & Irish cinemas.

Based on an original screenplay by Caroline Bongrand and inspired by true events, and directed by Martin Bourboulon, ‘Eiffel’ is a love letter both to the endurance of great art and to passionate creative partnerships.
