Building upon the concept “Enclave Paradise”, EMPTY BEHAVIOR SS24 collection drew inspiration from the culturally diverse realm of “field sports.” The brand combined stud soles and golf shoe soles with retro soccer shoes and ballet shoe uppers. The heels were inspired by vintage, elegant kitten heels, adjusted to a height suitable for urban living. The aim was to convey unisex wearing, not just in the sense of men’s athletic shoes available in women’s sizes but from a female perspective, presenting women’s rich personalities and independent spirit, thereby influencing the concept of “unisex athletic shoes” for all genders.

In terms of materials, the SS24 Interstellar Sports Collection featured high-quality materials such as lambskin and cowhide combined with mesh fabric to ensure both quality and comfort. Special colored reflective materials were added to enhance the retro and futuristic feel of the footwear. Drawing inspiration from retro running shoes of the 90s and 2000s, this collection uses special reflective materials to outline the shoe’s contours and embellish reflective details. When people captured photos of the collection with their flash on, there would be twinkles shining on the shoes, forming a dazzling galaxy like in sci-fi films, resembling being in an interstellar galaxy.

In the SS24 collection, a new Logo with the number “7” was introduced, representing that Week Studio continuously updates creative ideas every day in the week, also expressing that EMPTY BEHAVIOR commits to their vows to create for the times.

The concept of “Reverse the path, deconstruct the identity, send a blank invitation.” was also central to the runway show inspiration. The EMPTY BEHAVIOR SS24 runway show deconstructed the identities of everyone involved who had their own identified positions. Show guests and models swapped roles, and the brand’s founders exchanged roles with the staff. As everyone entered the location of the EMPTY BEHAVIOR SS24 runway show at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, they received a blank invitation sent by EB, and their identities remained unknown.

“The EMPTY BEHAVIOR SS24 collection continues to use footwear as a means to shatter conventional understandings of space and time, expressing the concept of “Interstellar Enclave, Placed on Earth’s Grasslands,” and giving rise to the notion of an “Enclave Paradise.” It transcends the cyber galaxy, breaking down biological barriers and ideologies. By unleashing nature and playing freely, it creates an harmonious and equal interstellar playground where the universe’s diverse entities can enjoy equal communication, coexist, and enjoy sports. To some people, it is just an ordinary grassland, but it doesn’t mean it can not be an interstellar enclave to others.” — Qian Zhou, Co-Founder of EB
