Launched earlier this year, ARV (short for Art Rendez-Vous) is an app designed to connect people and institutions through art. Unlike more “traditional” social media, ARV’s (arvme.com) main objective lies in the way it can advance the real, physical world of art and its participants. The app draws on the principle that art is a progenitive force that captures, conveys, and represents humanity. Appreciating that art can unite and connect people.

Arv app explore artARV gives it a platform to do so comprehensibly and accessibly. The app functions as a database of art institutions and their collections which are readily available for viewing by users. More than that, it is also a forum where art enthusiasts can share whatever they have to say about art and bring those newfound connections outside of the virtual environment.

Similarly, the app can support art institutions in creating a network of their own – by sharing their collections on the app, sites can easily connect with potential partners, as well as reach previously elusive audiences. Users participating in the app then engage with their favorite art pieces and institutions on a new level of accessibility; one that is not restricted by the duration of their visit to a site or the extent to which they are privy to the art world. Galleries are thus able to expand their reach and attract new visitors.

ARV can also provide their partners with relevant insights about their visitors’ and followers’ preferences and wishes by evaluating and analyzing available data about users. The app aims to assist art spaces in positioning themselves within the world of art and provides additional exposure to their partners.

The process of joining ARV is quick and smooth: galleries or museums only need to choose the works they want to represent on the app and share them with the app on a par with any relevant information. Once this step is finished, the artworks are uploaded to the online collection and the space has a page created especially for them where visitors can view all the pieces in one place.

Every gallery is assigned a unique QR code that will take the visitors straight to the app. After, ARV users can start interacting with others about their favorite works, artists, or institutions. The app aims to reach out to as many institutions as possible and collect art of all forms, kinds, and origins.
