Dan Romer, Jason Hill, and David Wingo each bring their own unique perspective to the score, guiding the listener through the gripping story with futuristic, ambient soundscapes, highly emotive piano-lead moments and thrilling orchestral crescendos. In addition to the score are three covers; singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ben Harper performs Marvin Gaye’s 1971 track Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology), singer, songwriter, and composer Rufus Wainwright presents Jerry Herman‘s 1969 song Dear World, from the musical of the same name and Ryoko & The Earl take on Louis Armstrong’s iconic 1967 hit What a Wonderful World. Also featured are rock band Portugal. The Man with their 2013 track Waves and 60’s rock-pop duo Zager & Evans with their 1969 hit In the Year 2525.
