Camden Passage in Islington was transformed into a vibrant stage for unity and creativity as the Festival for Peace and Love, organised by the Ezen Foundation, filled the historic street with colour, music, and hope.
Founded as a Community Interest Company, the Ezen Foundation is dedicated to making art accessible while sharing the beauty of Japanese culture and philosophy. Their mission is rooted in openness, mindfulness, and sustainability—values that shone through every element of the festival. Known for exhibitions and cultural events that blend tradition with innovation, Ezen brought the same spirit to Camden Passage, creating an atmosphere that was both festive and deeply meaningful.
Visitors enjoyed an array of performances, workshops, and exhibitions that encouraged reflection on peace and community. A highlight was the open-air catwalk, where models showcased designs inspired by unity, freedom, and conscious creativity. Many of the garments incorporated sustainable materials, underscoring the festival’s message that beauty and responsibility can go hand in hand.
Ezen’s vision is to dismantle elitism in the arts by making culture engaging and approachable. True to that aim, the festival invited everyone—locals, families, artists, and visitors—to participate. From dance classes to thought-provoking displays, the event created spaces where dialogue, creativity, and joy could flourish.
Camden Passage, with its charm and history, proved the perfect setting. What is usually a bustling antiques market became a meeting ground for connection, compassion, and celebration.
By the close of the day, the applause and laughter of the crowd lingered, a reminder of what the Ezen Foundation stands for: that peace and love are not distant ideals but living practices we can create together. The festival left behind not just memories, but inspiration for a more connected and compassionate world.
