Take ‘Advantage’ of an ‘Ace’ Weekend of Free Tennis at Venues Nationwide This September

Tennis venues up and down the country are opening their doors and hosting Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekends this September, to give people the chance to take to their local courts for free.

Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekend open-days take place throughout the year and with the latest events set to take place across the nation this September, there’s no time like the present to pick up a racket or practice like the pros at clubs and park venues on your doorstep.

Thousands of free events will be taking place with a host of exciting games and competitions designed to suit the whole family. There are Mini Tennis sessions, family time, free play, Cardio Tennis and numerous other kinds of activities to get involved in. Rackets and balls will be provided, so whether you’ve never picked up a racket before or you’re a seasoned regular, there’s scope to try your hand at all aspects of the sport.

Last year, more than 55,000 people came along to experience their local tennis club, with nearly half of attendees signing up to join their club and take part in tennis more regularly:

“Tennis has so many health and social benefits,” says Leon Smith, captain of the Great Britain Davis Cup team. “It gets you outdoors, is sociable by getting you together with other people, and gets you fit, providing physical, social and mental rewards both on and off the court.”

“Through these Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekends, we really want to show people that tennis is an accessible sport that can be played by anyone, anywhere,” he concludes.

Tennis venues run Nature Valley Big Tennis Weekends throughout the year, and the next big weekend will be on the 28-29 September 2019. Visit clubspark.lta.org.uk/OpenDays to find your nearest venue and book your spot to take part for free.
