Raising everyone’s awareness to focus on the present, for the sake of the future. This is GIVE A FOKus’s goal, WHITE’s sustainable hub under the artistic direction of Matteo Ward, and LIFEGATE media partnership. Today this appointment has expanded so much that it now takes up the new location in Tortona 31 | Ex Carrozzeria, and is divided into five theme areas: Water, Chemicals, Climate Change, Waste, People, in which the relationship between fashion and sustainable production is analysed.

In this edition of WHITE GIVE A FOKus- so Matteo Ward, creative director of the hub and cofounder of the brand WRÅD – we have decided, in collaboration with a number of first-rate partners, to focus on the truth and the facts behind the word “sustainability”, by looking at the theme from a number of perspectives, so as to provide some clear answers both to insiders and end-users.

Each section is combined with a first-rate protagonist: Water with Boyish and a special installation, a Special Project by the Tradeshow; Chemicals with ANALYTICAL GROUP; Waste with Econyl, among the Italian players who have revolutionized fashion on a global scale by means a pioneering process for the recycling and reuse of nylon in terms of circular economy. The artistic installation Get in Sync People, designed by the immersive studio DrawLight, introduces the areas dedicated to the exploration of the themes of traceability of the production chain and its social impact on the textile sector’s workers: Traceability with Albini Group, Oritain and Supima, with an innovative technology for the traceability of cotton; People with Fashion Revolution, to raise awareness both among those involved in the production cycle and end-users in terms of transparency: production and purchase.

We are very glad to be collaborating again with WHITE for GIVE A FOKus – so Mick Odelli, Founder of DrawLight – A project in which we strongly believe, because it joins our mission, aimed at raising awareness among people, to a universal and vital theme today, such as sustainability in the fashion world. Sustainibility is often bound to tools and processes. We believe, on the contrary, that everything depends on our collective awareness. Everything lies in our hands.

GIVE A FOKus also hosts Fondazione Pistoletto – Cittadellarte and the brands from the platform Fashion B.E.S.T.: Tiziano Guardini, WRÅD by Silvia Giovanardi, Flavia La Rocca (finalist at Green Carpet Award); Yekaterina Ivankova; Fabrizio Consoli – Blue of a kind; ACBC – Thezipshoe (finalist at Green Carpet Award) which, on this occasion, will present a capsule of sweaters developed to shed even more light on the themes being dealt with: water, chemicals, climate change, circular economy and people. «Cittadellarte, along with the fashion designers of the Platform B.E.S.T. and WHITE urge the world of designed, produced, bought and worn fashion to take action together. Considering the challenges imposed by the need to change our development model, buying sustainable fashion is no longer enough: we need to interpret it in a consistent matter. Perform it. Turn it into a daily way of life, as witnesses and actors of a commitment and dedication, that however minimal, is real and active in every corner, context and scenario of our life», Paolo Naldini, Direttore Cittadellarte-Fondazione Pistoletto Onlus.

As in the previous editions, WHITE / GIVE A FOKus supports the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations World Leaders through an educational and cultural program promoted in collaboration with Fondazione Pistoletto – Cittadellarte and the brands of the platform Fashion B.E.S.T.
