One of the most important events that happened in London recently was the Global Women Leaders Conference – Orion Star Awards London 2022. The gala hosted at the British Parliament brought a lot of attention to women’s empowerment and women’s leadership. The organizer- Iris Rodriguez- IIMSAM goodwill ambassador in the UK and Latin America selected the most influential, respected, and distinguished speakers and honorary guests. Extraordinary people came to celebrate humanity for a better world and the fantastic work of Queen Mother Dr. Delois Blakely a goodwill ambassador to Africa at the United Nations.
This year was also marked by the death of Queen Elizabeth- one of the most remarkable leaders in the world. Throughout her leadership, she showed love, guidance, dignity, understanding, and respect.
Women as leaders proved on many occasions to be successful. A recent study done by Harvard University shows that women leaders are better than men when it comes to crisis management.
Another study found that outcomes related to Covid-19, including the number of cases and deaths, were systematically better in countries led by women. Another looked at governors in the U.S. and found that states with female leaders had lower fatality rates.
As Serena Williams said: “Every woman’s success should be an inspiration to another. We’re strongest when we cheer each other on.” We should focus on celebrating women’s achievements and the ways that they choose to leave a mark.
