Today, Long Beach based trio half•alive release the 1st part of their new album Give Me Your Shoulders via RCA Records. Listen Here . Give Me Your Shoulders, Pt. 1 features four previously released tracks including “Summerland” which The Honey Pop declared “…a stunning summer anthem that has it all…” and “What’s Wrong” which was Most Added at Alt Radio around its launch and has garnered over 19.5 million streams worldwide. The band also performed the track on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! last summer. Check out the full track list below.

New single “Move Me” comes alongside an official music video which is a byproduct of the band’s new creator•series. half•alive partnered with a curated group of artists, directors, actors, animators, and creators, giving each of them the creative freedom to make a 30 second video to the track from their imagination. From there, the band selected a handful of videos and edited them together to create the incredible and unique “Move Me” music video.

Give Me Your Shoulders, Pt. 1 Track list:

    1. Make of It
    2. Summerland
    3. What’s Wrong
    4. Everything Machine
    5. Hot Tea
    6. Move Me
    7. Back Around

About Give Me Your Shoulders, Pt. 1, Josh Taylor from half•alive says, “Give Me Your Shoulders has many layers of intimacy.  Physical, emotional, & spiritual.  Shoulders are intimate in nature, close to the heart, a place of strength & tell of vulnerability. A sign of how safe I feel, & how close I’m willing to let you.

I’ve never before explored the topic of love in our songs. This album is unexplored territory in that regard. It’s vulnerable. Exposing my shoulders to whoever will stop & listen. Many of the songs are about the cry for love’s hand around my heart. In one breath it’s about a person & about God.  To ache for the comfort of another. To hide in the corner of their shoulder & know I am safe.

To shoulder is to accept responsibility, to take on one’s burden. To give your heavy. Saying “take my yoke upon you & learn from me… and you will find rest for your soul. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light”, as he proceeds to carry the weight of death on his shoulders, bearing it with arms outstretched to save the world.

It is love. To give what you cannot carry. To accept another’s burden without condition. To yoke yourself with the author of Love & find rest for your soul.”

In support of the new album, half•alive will be hitting the road on their headlining “Give Me Your Shoulders (TOUR)” which will take them across North America as well as the UK and Europe. In the UK, the band will play across Birmingham, London, Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin in May 2022. For the full list of tour dates see below and to purchase tickets go HERE.
