Hector Maclean unveiled his SS19 Collection during LFW on Sunday 16th at the grand venue of Arundel House, 6 Temple Place.
Having previously studied at Central St Martin’s and worked for some of the industries leading designers including Vivienne Westwood, Jonathan Saunders, J W Anderson, Beulah and Mark Fast, this September sees the eagerly anticipated launch of Hectors new collection after previously being told by doctors that he would never walk again. In 2014 Hector Maclean plunged down a 20ft lift shaft at the drama school Rada breaking both his legs and severing a main artery.
With a promising career as a model destroyed after he was left with life-changing scars, Hector was forced to move back home with his family and place his promisingly glittering career on hold within the industry until now. SS19 will see the launch of Hector’ new collection as part of London Fashion where he hopes to change the public perception of beauty with a range of models.
For his SS19 Collection Hector draws on inspiration from the decadent Tudor period, in particular the gorgeous dichotomy of Henry the 8th and his many wives. Other influences in his work include the architects Frank Genry and Daniel Liberskind and their views on modernity and sharp angles used throughout their building designs. These juxtaposing concepts are brought together to create an elegant, dramatic and conceptual SS19 Collection.
