FAB UK Review:

A film about Imaginary Friends (IFs) would be a hard sell, but under the direction of John Krasinski and a star turn by Cailey Fleming ‘If’ is very original and extremely well executed.

Bea’s father (Krasinski) is sick in the hospital so Bea is sent to live with her grandmother (Fiona Shaw). But upstairs in her grandmothers apartment building she discovers an apartment where IFs live. You see, these particular IFs have been abandoned by the young children they were friends with who no longer needed them, they were simple discarded and forgotten about. So Bea and IF Cal (Ryan Reynolds) go about finding new friends for the IFs. It becomes quite an adventure because if the child can’t see the IF, then there’s no match. And the IFs desperately want to be matched  up as this is what their lives are all about ! ‘If’ is quite an adventure, it’s a film that takes us on a journey through a young child’s eyes. While very young children might not quite understand the story, older children, and us adults, will appreciate the originality of the story (written by John Krasinski), and the great performances. If is a must see, and take along with you your imaginary friend! And this film proves that Krasinski is extremely talented!
