Situated in Malta’s capital city Valletta lies a beautiful boutique hotel. Nestled amongst the cobbled streets, iconic golden stoned buildings and over looking some of Maltas most spectacular panorama, welcome to the Iniala Harbour House Malta.

This five star hotel certainly has it all and if you’re looking for that ‘Rockstar’ treatment then look no further than Iniala.

My friend Hayley and I love to get away on girly trips and we knew that we were in for a few days of pure luxury from the moment that we stepped off of the plane. Firstly, we were greeted by our personal chauffeur complete with an ‘Iniala’ branded London black taxi (one of the new electric ones) having just flown in from a London airport we felt so at home. Our driver Mario was wonderful and so informative, he almost gave us a guided tour and pointed out places of interest as we drove the 15 minute transfer to the hotel. As we arrived we noticed that the hotel was directly on the waterfront and over looking the historic Grand harbour and the Three Cities. Wow! We never tired of this view throughout the four nights we were staying and it looked even more impressive at night with the lights from the cities across the water sparkling.

Once in the hotel we were greeted and led into a reception area where we were offered a drink of our choice including Champagne and some snacks. The first thing I noticed was the hotel’s beautiful aroma, it’s unique style reflecting Vallettas heritage and charm and how friendly and attentive all the staff were.

Then we met with our personal butler…yes, you read that right! Personal butler, who welcomed us and gave us a detailed tour of the hotel, the spa and the gym, which is situated just across the street at the back of the hotel and is exclusive only to guests.

Then it was onto our room. As the door opened I was surprised to see how spacious it was and overwhelmed to see that it was indeed an apartment fully equipped with a large bedroom, walk in wardrobe, a huge bathroom with double sinks, a free standing bath and a lounge area which opened out onto a private balcony with that gorgeous view across the water.

Our five day getaway was magnificent and we spent most days sight seeing. There is just so much to see and do in Malta!

Iniala staff couldn’t have been more helpful in suggesting fun things to do locally and further a field. We decided on taking a Gondola ride across that beautiful water over to the city of Birgu and enjoyed a walk up to the La Guiderola Gardens which has a beautiful watch tower to look over the glistening blue seas. Another suggestion from the hotel was to visit the old capital city of Malta called M’dina. This fortified city is in the northern region of Malta and has a no car policy which was wonderful and made for an amazing day strolling through the medieval streets full of history, beautiful sights and culture. St Pauls Cathedral is a must see! During the week we we were also lucky enough to visit Malta’s Film studios and take a look around the film set of where ‘The Gladiator’ movies were filmed.

But if relaxing is more your thing then ‘The Essensi Spa by Iniala’ is an absolute haven and boasts Valletta’s golden stone work which wraps around an indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna. Essensi also offers a wide range of treatments and massages which can be booked during your stay. The spa is accessible by lift from all rooms and is open 24 hours a day which worked perfectly for Hayley and I who are both creatives and live an ‘on the go’ lifestyle. It was like having our own private pool and sauna!

The location is perfect for alfresco drinks and dining as everything is situated just a few minutes walk up the scenic cobbled streets just behind the hotel. But if you’re looking for something more fine dining then you could try ‘ION Harbour’ which is Iniala’s rooftop Michelin star restaurant by Simon Rogan.

Breakfast is also served in this restaurant on the balcony and was really a highlight for me throughout the week. You can choose from a variety of different delicious breakfast options off of the menu and the food is served always with a smile and a break taking view.

This boutique hotel consists of under 50 rooms, all unique in style and features, including suites, guest houses, grand residences and a penthouse suite with private plunge pool. Nothing is too much bother for any of the staff who really made the trip so perfect. We would love to give a special mention and thanks to Martina, Elvis, Astrid, Gabriel, Eneal, Bobbin, Robert and Mario.

If your looking for that ‘VIP treatment’ then look no further than Iniala. I was blown away by the ease and real exclusivity of this hotel.

Thank you Iniala for the most wonderful stay we can’t wait to come back soon.
