Acoustic folk artist Anat Porat has released her debut album Back To New – 28th July, 2023. The 11-track record takes audiences on a heartwarming ride, soundtracked by Anat’s signature soft but powerful sound. Back To New Album Download Link

One of the album’s singles – The Loyal Father – encapsulates this with its tender story and sound. Described by Anat as a ‘dark fairytale dressed in a light and almost ironic melody’, the single balances its bright acoustic guitar/vocal led composition, with a bleaker story in which a king’s bloody enforcer is forced to weigh his allegiance to the crown against his loyalty to his daughter who has slapped the prince.

The single’s stunning video was directed by Julian M. Grünthal, who also wrote the lyrics for the song. Filmed against a breathtaking Swiss lake in the winter and summer, the video follows a heartbroken father and the tumultuous relationship he has with his daughter, as Anat sings as though to narrate their story. The Loyal Father is a must watch for fans of folklore, Nordic imagery, grand scale epic cinematography, and touching stories.

Back To New marks a new chapter in Anat Porat’s welcome return to music following an extended hiatus to raise her family. In her earlier years, the artist made a name for herself performing in the 1999 Israeli production of Les Misberables when she gracefully stepped away from the limelight to focus on raising her children. In 2016, she returned to the production that had introduced her to the world – Les Miserables – at the Israeli National Theatre and hasn’t stopped making music since. Now armed with over 2 new decades worth of life experiences, Anat Porat is creating even richer music, even bringing one of her daughters Shira along with duets for her on some of the record’s songs.

The Loyal Father and Back To New are available across all platforms now.
