The Fourth Series of Football Drama ‘jamie Johnson’ Returns With Star-studded Cameos and a Groundbreaking Real World Storyline.

The critically acclaimed, multiple award-winning children’s football drama ‘Jamie Johnson’is set to return to CBBC for its fourth series. The first of 13 x 30-minute episodes will air on Thursday 11th April at 5pm, with Episode 2 available directly afterwards on BBC iPlayer. Following the weekly TX, the new ‘Jamie Johnson’ episodes will be available on demand, alongside all the episodes from the previous three series.

Inspired by the books of Dan Freedman, the series ‘Jamie Johnson’ is about 14-year-old Jamie (Louis Dunn) and his friends who live and breathe football. In Series 4, his team Phoenix FC become the official youth team of a non-league football club.

They wave goodbye to Kingsmount School and say hello to a real football stadium and training pitches – though admittedly it’s all a bit rough around the edges! But there are a few surprises in store for Jamie and the other Phoenix players… Including a new coach, a new U12 team featuring a host of new characters, and a whole new set of challenges.

Whilst the drama ramps up this series, the football is taken to another level, culminating in Phoenix FC participating in the internationally renowned Gothia Cup in Sweden – the largest youth football tournament in the world. In order to film this, the cast entered the cup in real life and made it as far as the quarter-finals, mimicking their characters’ on-screen exploits.

Following the series finale, a half-hour documentary will air, combining behind-the-scenes footage from the Gothia Cup shoot and exclusive interviews with the cast as they reflect on their whirlwind journey in Sweden.

The cornerstone of every ‘Jamie Johnson’ series is the show’s iconic cameos. Drawing from the who’s who of the footballing and wider sporting world, the show has featured the likes of Jurgen KloppMarcus RashfordSteven Gerrard, the England Lionesses and Barcelona superstar Luis Suarez… And this series is no different.
