2018 will see the Resurrection Tour of the Mighty Man Engine

The largest mechanical puppet ever constructed in Britain (powered by Volvo) and Winner of the ‘Best Arts Project’ in the National Lottery Awards 2017 steamed the length of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site last summer, unearthing a deep lode of passion and pride. Now, the colossal miner is preparing for his Resurrection Tour across Cornwall and West Devon, before he drives further, into Somerset, South Wales and up to the North of England.

On Saturday 31st March 2018, The Man Engine will re-appear where he was last seen: at Geevor Tin Mine, Cornwall in the ultimate West. Then he heads east; on Easter Sunday 1st April he will be at Heartlands in Cornwall. On Easter Monday 2nd April he will visit Cornwall’s ancient Stannary capital, Lostwithiel. He crosses the Tamar bridge to Tavistock on Tuesday 3rd April before heading up the country to Radstock, South Wales, Shropshire, Yorkshire and Derbyshire.

For those who managed to see ‘the big boy’ the last time, there is a lot extra on offer at the Man Engine 2018 Resurrection Tour events, such as two elements to each location’s event, namely the ‘AFTERNOONER’ and ‘AFTERDARKER’. The ‘AFTERNOONER’ will give families and big kids the chance to really get to know the largest mechanical puppet ever constructed in Britain with a whole host of family-friendly activities and some cracking food and drinks for sale. The AFTERDARKER promises an edgier extravaganza with even greater miracles of super-scale puppeteering science on show, a real celebration of our revolutionary past.

The Man Engine Resurrection Tour 2018 tickets are available for each of the Cornwall and South West England events from manenginetickets.com at prices from £10 per adult and £6 per child/concession (plus an additional booking fee.)
