London College of Contemporary Arts (LCCA) has been encouraging its students to ‘stay designing, stay at home and save lives’, with the college vowing to keep productivity levels high whilst moving to virtual studying during the COVID-19 lockdown.

The National Algerian Centre charity and the NHS trust have launched a joint initiative to deliver food to staff in London hospitals. LCCA HN Graphic Design students supported the collaboration by designing the visuals to assist the campaign.

LCCA students took inspiration from the National Algerian Centre’s logo, which features a hand representing protection and solidarity. Using Adobe applications, students designed the logo, website banners, volunteer badges and social media templates for the charitable collaboration. Imad Guenane, Head of Hospitality and Business at LCCA said: “Focusing on the community is very important to me and the students”.

As part of LCCA’s implementation of student engagement in online teaching, all course modules are incorporating practical, real-life aspects to enhance learning and keep the students’ creative minds stimulated. The college recognises it’s crucial to keep their brains working whilst students actively work on relevant projects from home.

Jose Bolano Pinedo, Course Manager of HN Graphic Design and HN Game Development”, said: “I’m very proud of my students who have once again shown their passion for design, and in this particular opportunity, their solidarity with the ones that need it the most.

Keep designing, stay home, save lives”.
