LIAM BAILEY Returns With New Single ‘Brother, Why You Gotta Love Her’ Featuring MAVERICK SABRE

Liam bailey press photoFresh off of touring with Paloma Faith on her nationwide ‘The Architect’ tour, Nottingham soul musician LIAM BAILEY is back with his brand new single titled ‘Brother, Why You Gotta Love Her’ featuring longtime collaborator Maverick Sabre, premiered via Clash Magazine. ‘Brother, Why You Gotta Love Her’ is taken from his forthcoming fourth studio EP, which is to be released on November 9, and is the follow up to his 2014 seminal and critically acclaimed debut album Definitely Now.

Produced by Rich Cooper, who has previously worked with Banks, Razorlight, Lucy Rose, Billie Marten and Tom Odell, among others, ‘Brother, Why You Gotta Love Her’ is an exquisite and soulful guitar-led offering, which sees Liam Bailey and Maverick Sabre going back and forth about walking away from a toxic relationship. The record is held together beautifully by both artists’ masterful vocal performances and songwriting dexterity, and the undeniable chemistry between Bailey and Sabre.

Brother, why you gotta love herSpeaking about how the ‘Brother, Why You Gotta Love Her’ track came about, Liam Bailey says, “I was inspired to write the song after getting out of a long and painful situation that I was in with someone. We loved something other than ourselves and it led to a toxic place. I didn’t mean to write the song, I just let things go in the studio and see what happened. I have known and worked with Maverick Sabre for years, and it was a blessing to work with him on this record”.

Revered for his unforgettable voice, and soul, reggae and blues pedigree, and often compared to the likes to Otis Redding, Sam Cooke and Bob Marley, Liam Bailey first burst unto the scene in 2010, releasing two EPs under Amy Winehouse’s Lioness Records, followed by collaborations with Chase & Status, including the UK top 5 single ‘Blind Faith’, Gorillaz, Salaam Remi, and Shy FX, a third EP with Polydor Records, and his full length album with Sony Music.

Liam Bailey also comes championed by BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac, BBC 1Xtra’s DJ Target and David Rodigan, Zane Lowe (Apple Music/Beats 1) and Jools Holland (BBC Two, BBC Radio 2), as well as recent support from Guardian Music, Clash Magazine, NYLON, Huffington Post, Wonderland Magazine and Paper Magazine, among others, with early co-signs from Ellie Goulding, Plan B, Jessie J and Paloma Faith, who he has all toured with in the past few years.
