    For the Spring Summer 2020 season Magda Butrym shares her exploration of minimalism and opulence through her distinctive lens of modern femininity. She delivers a luxurious collection that awes in novel, bold shapes while remaining sensual and romantic, proving yet again that the statement fashion doesn’t have to feel androgynous or overly masculine.

    Minimalist, sharp lines of the collection’s tailoring allude to early 90’s power suits from an era when women had to go to the extreme to be heard. Magda’s pieces are softened with the gentle gathering at the waist for a feminine silhouette, and oversized trench coats are cut in delicate fluid satin for a sophisticated, graceful feel. Other, more masculine shapes are tamed with the use of the rich buttery leather, lending an elegance to pieces that could otherwise be interpreted as hard and unforgiving. But Magda’s masculine fashion is on women’s terms.

    Magda reworks her signature decorative elements – the ruffles, creases, foldings, and gives them a new, notable presence and volume on an enticing line-up of dresses: from strong-shouldered, print-rich, gathered mini dresses, to the full-length, voluminous models with opulently ornamented sleeves, and sensual, luxurious silk slip-on’s – each time “the Magda dress” stands out as an exciting, visually striking statement. When looking at the season’s signature piece – the mini dress, for which Magda turned her 2D signature rose print into a 3D sculpted flower construction, one can’t escape the feeling of this oversized silk rose to be the proud celebration of powerful femininity.

    Brand’s signature print also aligns with this season’s allure for the bold, and in addition to the more classic prints in reds and pastels, it takes on a daring, almost fluorescent hues.

    Alongside the main collection are the shoes and accessories, which complete this collection’s spirit. Thigh high satin boots, knee high boots that vary in texture from crystal embellished silk to snakeskin print, delicate strappy sandals in leather and in spectacular romantic lace, offer a balanced act of a timeless design with contemporary eye-catching detail. The jewellery collection uses the timeless gold decorated with the designer’s favourite pearls to create uniquely sophisticated pieces, that aptly conclude the distinctive look of Magda Butrym, the one of an effortless, romantic elegance and confident femininity.
