23 year old Manchester based DJ/producer Danny Lees has officially released his infectious dance anthem ‘You Tell Me Lies’ via Sony RCA UK.

Featuring a sample of Marvin Gaye’s 1966 release ‘Ain’t That Peculiar’, Danny layers classic house organs with a slick garage bassline and draws influence from early 90s classic house.

Speaking about the track, Danny says: ‘This was one of the first house tracks I made and at the time this kind of music was a new discovery for me , never in a million years did I think it would have become as popular as it has!’

The rising producer originally uploaded ‘You Tell Me Lies’ to Soundcloud a couple of years ago whilst studying at music college in Salford. More recently, the track has become a huge viral sensation, amassing over 2 million streams globally and soundtracking numerous TikTok trends generating over 7k videos in the process.

Freshly signed to Sony RCA UK, Danny has been making waves in the industry. Gravitating towards artists such as Steely Dan, The Smiths and The Police in his younger years, when he makes music now, Danny draws influence from artists such as Disclosure, Shift K3y and MK.

The huge viral smash ‘You Tell Me Lies’ is out now and looks set to become one of the biggest dance tracks of 2021.

    About Danny Lees

23 year old Manchester based DJ and producer Danny Lees is storming the dance music world with his single ‘You Tell Me Lies’. Danny’s original foray into beat-making began at a music college in Salford where he started uploading his own tunes online. After leaving college, Danny became an IT worker for the NHS. Whilst working there, a couple of years after originally uploading the track to Soundcloud, ‘You Tell Me Lies’ started to generate buzz and attention online much to Danny’s surprise. The track has now amassed over 2 million streams globally and has helped Danny build a rabid fanbase, setting the tone for the future.

Danny has a unique sound that combines melodic elements of 90s dance and 00s garage with his own signature style. Gravitating towards artists such as Steely Dan, The Smiths and The Police in his younger years, when he makes music now, Danny draws influence from artists such as Disclosure, Shift K3y and MK.

With ‘You Tell Me Lies’ already a TikTok and Soundcloud phenomenon, Danny recently signed to Sony RCA. With a plethora of releases in the pipeline, 2021 looks set to be a promising year for the upcoming DJ and producer.
