AUTUMN / WINTER 2020 Alumni of the University of Westminster, French designer MANON PLANCHE’s collection ‘Time traveller’ takes an innovative and environmentally approach to the progression of sustainability within the fashion industry, exploring the possibilities of reinvention and evolution within a collection to promote durability and social conscientiousness, where all parts of the production process has been compassionately considered to promote a premass-production societies understanding of building a love of longevity within a garment and the personalisation that comes with that; creating truly one of a kind pieces.
Past collections have been reworked and developed in an up-cycling process of materials, objects, post-consumer and industrial waste and second hand denim, finding creative and aesthetic use of all frayed threads, scraps, patchworks and at times, laminated.
Time traveller creates a nexus of time past and time present, with hopes of further creative -as well as environmentally conscientious- development in time future.
