I love my spicy food so when I had the opportunity to dine at Chiquito’s it really was a no-brainer as looking at the menu just had me salivating enough already.

I don’t tend to hear many people exploring too much other than the normal Indian Italian and Chinese takeaway’s and restaurants so I really wanted to share my love on this Mexican cuisine and stunning restaurant as I feel unless you’ve been here you really are missing out I don’t tend to hear many people exploring too much other than the normal Indian Italian and Chinese takeaway‘s and restaurants so I really want to share my love on this Mexican cuisine and stunning restaurant as I feel unless you’ve been here you really are missing out

I mention the word spicy although it’s not spicy food it’s just done tasty filler flavour full of colour and there is a mixture of food for both meat eaters and vegetarians so rest of shored the menu will certainly tick your boxes.

Chiquito’s call is it self the original Mexican Grill Bar and honestly for me they have to be the best grill bar I have been to. I was keen to get stuck into the menu and as always it wouldn’t be right to go straight to the mains so as always it was lovely to sample a few tasty starters. Me personally, I had to try their Chicken Wings and I was left wanting more, they were that tasty! The portions are very generous as I had around 5 wings coated in fabulous HOT habanero sauce, for me this is always an obvious choice but If you’re not too keen on the spicy chilli sauce, then you can always opt for the BBQ sauce option which is equally just as tasty and mouth watering.

Another starter which I wasn’t too sure about that gave it a shot was The jalapeño poppers. Now I have had these previously from another restaurant and was slightly disappointed however something told me to just give them a try and really they were absolutely delicious. With a good size portion these breaded jalapeños were filled with cream cheese And served alongside a pot of jalapeño jelly this was a first for me and it definitely won’t be a last the combination works extremely well. The starters definitely did their job and left me keen to get a tasting for my mains.

I most certainly have to recommend the Chimichanga  (in simple terms, a deep fried Burrito to me) – this tortilla wrap is filled with your choice of filling where I chose beef chilli and mixed inside with rice, refried beans, mozzarella and jalapeño cheese sauce. It’s then topped with guacamole and sour cream and served with a little bit of salsa. It’s enough for one person or even nice to share and it’s packed with taste and warmth and definitely left me wanting more- not out of hunger but greed! It really was so tasty but one was more than enough. If you want to change things up then you don’t have to have beef chilli filling, you can go for chicken, pulled pork or if your wanting a vegetarian option then checkout the mushroom or five bean chilli.

Aside from the Chimichanga, other Mexican fabulousness includes Tacos, Enchiladas, Burritos and Fajitas! The Fajitas are a show piece on their own and come as the standard chicken, Garlic king prawns, BBQ Chicken and Pulled Pork, Roasted Vegetables or a variety mix which is the big one! All served on a sizzling, smoking hot plate with tortillas and the traditional Mexican dips and cheese on the side.

Something a little different but worth a taste is the Texan Stack burger- I recommend this burger purely because it’s so full of taste and has a little bit of everything scrumptious rolled into one! If you love your beef burgers and chicken then this is the one for you! A beef burger pattie and southern fried chicken strips topped with BBQ sauce, jalapeño cheese sauce and chipotle mayo, served with a nice portion of fries! Great for a hungry belly and even better to share! Fancy something less spicy but equally as tasty- be sure to checkout their Salmon with roasted new potatoes or even the Chicken & Ribs combo. Mouth watering and meat that falls off the bone!

Chiquito is really is a fabulous place to go and eat as they’ve got some lovely happy Mexican music playing, the restaurant is bright, it’s got a nice vibe to it there are also Mexican hats lying around if you want to be a little bit silly and have some fun which we did. Another nice thing is that you’re not pestered and you get to relax and enjoy the food and sip some fabulous cocktails such as the Margarita or a favourite of mine is the Pina colada, or why not have a Mexican beer if you prefer…So much choice and something for all ages and families!

I have to say that this visit to Chiquito’s was absolutely lovely, it was relaxed cosy and there is a real vibe of family and to be honest you quite easily lose track of time as it simply flys in the good time you have here. The service is on point, the food is tasty, the portions are generous and the staff really do look after you.

The manager which I will refer to as the lovely “M” was an absolute sweetheart, she was the best- friendly, approachable and a perfect host! Thank-you so much to the Uxbridge Chiquito’s for a fabulous night!
