NEW YORK, NEW YORK – Tuesday, September 14, 2021. Michael Kors is pleased to announce that the following guests wore Michael Kors Collection to the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Benefit and opening of “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” on Monday, September 13,2021, in New York City.

Kate Hudson wore a petal scattered sequin, double crepe sablé two-piece gown with a matching silk organza feather coat, custom created for the occasion. Together, the gown & coat took almost 4,000 man hours to produce, using almost 80,000 recycled sequins in 4mm size to create the “scattered” look. Her petal clutch was created in a similar way, embroidering the 4mm sequins onto a satin base.

Regina King wore a midnight double sable crepe strapless gown with gold pinstripe embroidery and self covered buttons, custom created for the occasion. She paired her gown with a midnight double crepe sable evening coat lined with a brilliant array of cut & sewn gold sequins. Together, the two pieces took over 600 man hours to create, sewing 3mm sequins and beads alternately to form a unique geometric detail. She carried a clutch in midnight satin with shiny gold hardware.
