A Lucana evening at the Italian Embassy in Brussels to tell the Sacrality of Basilicata (Italy) through Art, Beauty, Elegance and the Charm of Italian High Fashion

Tuesday 21 November 2017 at 6.30 pm at the Residence of the Italian Embassy in Brussels, at the invitation of Ambassador S.E. Elena Basile, the event “Sacred Basilicata” takes place in collaboration with the Basilicata Region, the Gruppo di Azione Locale “La Cittadella del Sapere” and the Apt-Basilicata Region.

The event aims to promote the Lucania identity through its typical products using the languages of fashion and foodstuffs by placing itself in the 2nd edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, an international event promoting quality Italian food and wine.

During the evening Michele Miglionico, exponent of Italian Fashion High Fashion, presents for the first time in Belgium her collection “Madonna Lucane” with a show that looks at tradition telling the cultural, artistic and anthropological heritage of her country of origin Basilicata, exalting the elements of the lucano costume, craftsmanship, sacredness and building a connection with the contemporary, inspired by the Madonnas worshiped and brought to procession and to her female figures that in this territory, a magical place full of beauties and contradictions, still today devote devoutly the most beautiful and precious clothes to worship statues.

There are thirty outfits on the catwalk with the direction of Alessandro Mazzini (Mazzini Eventi Production), which, between sacred and profane, tell of a land of Southern Italy, filtering it with the language of the High Fashion and the Rites of Popular Catholicism.

The event continues with a dinatoire cocktail where guests taste the typical dishes of the Lucano cuisine prepared and narrated by the chef Pino Golia sparkling wine and regional wines.

A social event evenings to introduce and support the Association DMLA.be, a Belgian onlus created in 2004, dedicated exclusively to DMLA (age-related macular degeneration) with the aim of informing the general public, listening, supporting and helping patients and assisting medical and scientific research.

To complete the image of the Michele Miglionico Alta Moda collection, the exclusive collaboration of Hair Stylist Mario Sabatino and Make Up Artists Nicola Acella and Antonio Riccardo of Antonio Riccardo’s MakeUp Academy.

For the designer Michele Miglionico is all tied to an invisible thread: supporting the beautiful through the best stories whether they are fashion, cinema, food or solidarity and told in the name of Italian creativity and excellence.
