‘Two Fingers’ offers another look at the band’s infectious indie exploits, classic rock undertones and their strikingly complete sound despite being only their third release. Recorded and produced at Lightship 95 Studios by Giles Barrett and Dave Holmes (Bess Attwell, Alfa Mist, Ezra Collective, Ghostpoet) the track brings together bopping bass lines, intricate guitar lines and tight drums under the husky, effortlessly catchy and charismatic lead vocals in a high-octane yet considered sonic experience.

As the track enters the infectious chorus, a wash of vocal harmonies enter offering an atmospheric, ethereal shimmer under the vibrant lead. Gradually growing throughout, the track soon breaks into one of two instrumental guitar breaks that further reinforce the band’s 70s rock tendencies before closing on a climactic final chorus.

Speaking about the track, the band share:

“Although the song is drenched in hazy summer vibes, beneath the initial sunkissed simmer the true core of the song centres around the concept of raising two fingers to someone after a breakup. (You know the V sign!)

The lyrics elaborate on the feeling you have when you think that you know someone, but then suddenly realise that they are in fact a stranger. Frustration comes easily when someone attempts to hide their own selfishness within an apparent selfless act – but you can either choose to be upset, or you can dust yourself down, boogie and raise two fingers instead.”

Having headlined shows across London including the O2 Academy Islington and London’s Camden Assembly, Moonshine Heavies have built a reputation as one of the capital’s most exciting new live rock bands. With upcoming shows at Camden Rocks and 93 Feet East as well as starring in War Child UK’s (known for their work with The 1975, The Hunna, and Sea Girls, among others) upcoming national ‘RISING’ campaign, the band are hoping to deliver on the hype surrounding the band with yet more milestones to propel them ever forwards.
