Yesterday was an incredible day at the Ritz Paris, made even more so by a new partnership with Alaffia – a beauty brand that has impacted over a quarter of a million lives for the better.

Upon arrival at the Ritz Hotel’s Salon Vendôme, guests were given a warm welcome in front of a beautiful backdrop introducing Fashion Week Studio’s new beauty partner.

Gift bags were waiting on their seats, courtesy of Alaffia. Everyone was delighted to receive a gift from the award-winning brand – a delectable combination of natural shea butter whipped with coconut oil and lavender.

Alaffia also provided products for use backstage. The hair stylists and models loved the new line – “Beautiful Curls” – for wavy, curly and coily hair. instagram.com/alaffiabeautifulcurls/

The room was filled with VIPs such as the South African Ambassador to France, Tebogo Seokolo, Royalty from Abu Dhabi and major social media influencers as well as press from Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Bazaar, French national television, the owner of Fashion Week Online and many more.

Alaffia founder, Olowo-n’djo Tchala, was born and raised in a village in Togo, West Africa.  www.instagram.com/olowondjo/

He was raised by a single mother and several older sisters. Olowo-n’djo dropped out of school in the sixth grade to work the farm and support his family. He sold peppers, shea nuts and shea butter at the market with his mother.

Having experienced the lack of access to education, health care, and economic opportunities in West Africa, Tchala set out on his journey to fulfill his purpose of alleviating extreme poverty in West Africa and creating gender equity for generations to come.

To accomplish this, he created Alaffia, which produces and markets a line of natural beauty products that honor the culture and heritage of his homeland.  alaffia.foundation

Through Alaffia, thousands of jobs have been created for women and over a quarter of a million lives have been changed for the better.

Alaffia’s fair-trade products – natural soaps, shampoos and lotions – can be purchased from over 2500 major retailers in the USA, including Whole Foods Market, Target, and Walmart, as well as online through Amazon. Soon the brand will be coming to the European market.

By becoming an Alaffia customer you are directly contributing to a social enterprise that reinvests its profits into the community by building schools, funding safe births, providing bicycles, eyewear, school supplies, and reforesting for future generations.

Nathanaelle Hottois, founder and CEO of Fashion Week Studio, strongly believes that African designers and artisans play an important role in the arts and the fashion industry and deserve a prominent place in the international market.

Once introduced to Alaffia’s mission, she realized that if the artists and future leaders of Africa were given fair opportunities, Africa would rise to the great heights for which it is destined.

Nathanaelle has committed five percent of all Fashion Week Studio sales to the Alaffia Foundation starting March 5th, 2022 and has launched a fundraising program to help Alaffia build ten more schools in Togo.
