LONDON — MUBI has announced that MUBI FEST London will take place from November 13 to 15, 2026, at the Hackney Picturehouse. The three-day event brings together preview screenings, restored classics, filmmaker Q&As, live music, and panel discussions.
The London edition expands on MUBI’s global festival series, offering preview screenings of award-winning festival titles alongside archival works. Beyond the auditorium, the festival will feature a custom-built MUBI Library showcasing publishing output from NOTEBOOK magazine and MUBI Editions, alongside free short film programmes, live podcast recordings, and food from Caribbean vendor Original Flava.
Tickets open to MUBI subscribers at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 30, with general on-sale beginning at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 2.

Friday, November 13
- Opening Night: Markus Schleinzer’s Rose opens the festival with one of its first UK screenings, featuring a Cannes award-winning performance by Sandra Hüller (Anatomy of a Fall). Schleinzer will attend for a post-screening Q&A.
- Anniversary Screening: A new 4K restoration of Donnie Darko (2001) marks the cult film’s 25th anniversary, accompanied by a live podcast recording with The Evolution of Horror focusing on “the horror of adolescence.”
- Music & Cinema: To mark the release of Her Private Hell (2026), MUBI presents Nicolas Winding Refn’s Drive (2011). The screening will be followed by Underscore, a joint event with Crack Magazine featuring live DJs and visual art exploring Refn’s use of synth-driven soundtracks.
Saturday, November 14
- Festival Previews:
- Andrey Zvyagintsev’s Cannes Grand Prix winner Minotaur (2026) screens in partnership with the London Review of Books.
- Lukas Dhont’s World War I romance Coward (2026) makes its local appearance following its London Film Festival premiere and joint Best Actor win at Cannes. Co-screenwriter Angelo Tijssens and lead actors Valentin Campagne and Emmanuel Macchia will participate in a post-screening Q&A.
- Debut & Retrospective Features:
- Sophy Romvari’s semi-autobiographical debut Blue Heron (2025) presented alongside storytelling platform Seanchoíche.
- Park Chan-wook’s The Handmaiden (2016).
- A 50th-anniversary screening of Horace Ové’s Pressure (1976)—widely recognized as the first feature-length Black British film—followed by a panel discussion on five decades of Black British cinema.
- Queer Cinema & Short Film Awards: Diego Céspedes will hold a pre-screening Q&A for The Mysterious Gaze of the Flamingo (2025) before chairing the panel for the Gay Times & MUBI Queer Short Film Prize. Featured directors include Lyndon Henley Hanrahan (Sunday Lunch), Daisy Ifama (Rap Baby), and Caleb J. Roberts (Purebread).
Sunday, November 15
- Closing Film: Director Andrew Haigh (All of Us Strangers) presents a preview of A Long Winter (2026), followed by a live Q&A.
- Documentary & Performance:
- Paul Thomas Anderson’s Cameron Winter at Carnegie Hall (2026), filmed on 35mm and 16mm, documents Geese frontman Cameron Winter’s solo piano performance in New York.
- The London premiere of the Sundance-winning documentary Nuisance Bear (2026), followed by a Q&A with director Jack Weisman and producer Teddy Leifer.
- Orian Barki and Meriem Bennani’s Y2K-inspired animated film Bouchra (2025), accompanied by a pre-recorded filmmaker Q&A.
