London based neo soulstress Naomi Banks releases her debut single: ‘Hourglass’ – a snippet of learned wisdom about not realising the importance of someone until they’ve gone away.

Set against an explosive electronic soundscape, the 25 year old singer draws in modern soul influences and stories of love lost to curate a beautifully constructed release which shows off both her musical talent and flair for songwriting.

Her vocal prowess is passionate and works to create a world where listeners can become immersed in the journey she is on.

Despite this being her first solo project, Naomi Banks has worked alongside and recorded with a variety of established musicians: Keane, Laura Mvula, ELO and Lianne La Havas to name a few.

Hourglass is released on 24th August 2018 via tenwest and is the first in a collection of tracks to be released by Naomi Banks in the coming months.

“Hourglass is about not realising the importance of someone until they have gone away.” – Naomi Banks

Naomi Banks is one of the most exciting singers to emerge from the burgeoning Neo Soul and Jazz scenes this year, opting to break free from the genres and instead settle into her own buttery fusion of Soul, Pop and Electronica.

Her first professional recording was for The Early Learning Centre at the age of 6. Later, she received a scholarship to The Purcell School of Music where she studied singing, saxophone and piano. Naomi then earned a scholarship to Trinity Conservatoire where she specialised in Jazz voice.
