Leeds based start-up LOUNGE-WEAR launches this week with its unique range of organic vegan-friendly clothing.

For founder and CEO Ilan Sherman, Lounge-wear was a concept he’d been dreaming up for years, but when the salons closed numerous times during lockdown, he had to adapt. Sherman’s other business supplies salon clothing across the UK and Europe, so the lockdown forced him to pivot, and he couldn’t wait to implement his vision.

LOUNGE-WEAR is a fashion brand supplying hoodies, sweatshirts, joggers, t-shirts and shorts, using only organic recycled materials that is vegan certified by PeTA.

Designing everything in their in-house factory in Leeds, Lounge-wear is, as Ilan puts it “not claiming to be some clothing line exclusively for tree huggers. When you tell people you’re bringing out an organic vegan clothing range, they conjure up stereotypical images that do not align with mainstream fashion. This can be nothing further from the truth”.

“Thanks to our collaboration with the talented designer Georgia Wilkinson we have created a collection that disrupts the false assumption that vegan clothing can’t be on trend.”

“The Lounge-wear brand was born from two essential premises. Firstly, corporate clothing as we know it has hugely changed; the pandemic has changed the way people dress and people have realised that comfort is key. Loungewear was already growing over the last few years, but in recent times, with people working from home and staying in, the demand for comfort and style is paramount above all else. ”

“Secondly, I have always been passionate aboutdoing my bit’ and I genuinely believe that sustainable clothing will become the norm not the exception in a few years. We’re not here to preach, or to turn everyone into eco-warriors but we believe that if we can improve the planet in our own small way, and make people look and feel fabulous at the same time, then we’ve achieved our mission.”

Ilan’s collaboration with the gifted designer Georgia Wilkinson ensures that the garments are on trend and of a superior quality. Wilkinson is only 23, but is already an award winning designer who has seen her previous designs worn by celebrities such as Lottie Moss, Lizzo, Rihanna, Sian Gabbidon, Mimi Cutrell, Bella Hadid, AmanZa Smith, Kami Osman and many more.

Wilkinson explained her inspiration for this Lounge-wear collection:

“I have put together a premium collection in a range of neutral hues to suit every skin tone. The clothing we have produced is extremely soft and comfortable, and crucially, the materials are recycled, organic and vegan certified, even down to the labelling and packaging.”

“The Lounge-wear collection is made up of everyday items you can wear time and time again. The designs are contemporary with classic silhouettes and soft, plush fabrics. I have created garments with an immaculate finish with graphics that are new and fresh. You can wear these clothes without fearing they have gone out of fashion. They’re essentials and staples for every wardrobe and truly something you can keep for life.”

Lounge-wear’s mission is to create sustainable clothing at an accessible price point, and to help convert more people towards conscious consumption season after season.

Prices start from £24 for an organic t-shirt, and £46 for an organic hoodie, to £65 for an organic hooded robe.

The collection will be stocked online at 10 am on 25th February 2021 at www.Lounge-wear.co.uk
