Revitalise appeal now live – final radio broadcast on Thursday 17 August, 3.27pm

Vice President of national disabled people’s charity and former carer tells moving story of Revitalise guests.

National disabled people’s charity Revitalise’s BBC Radio 4 fundraising appeal is now live on iPlayer and will be broadcast on radio for the last time this Thursday 17 August at 3.27pm.

The Appeal is presented by TV personality, writer and comedian Arthur Smith, a long-time Vice-President of the charity and a former carer himself.

Arthur talks about his own experience as a carer for his mother Hazel, then goes on tell the moving story of Mavis and Colin Akrill, who recently benefitted from a respite break with the charity.

All the funds raised by the Appeal will go towards the Revitalise Support Fund (RSF), which was established to help disabled people and carers in financial hardship take much-needed respite breaks with the charity.
