A leader in the sustainable fashion movement, Edric Ong captivated audiences with the label’s Spring/Summer 22’ collection. Filled with enchantingly beautiful colors and exciting patterns, Edric Ong’s designs are sure to impress every viewer.

“The unique fashion of Edric Ong combines a touch of the ethnic and oriental with the contemporary; innovating styles with creative use of the hand-woven silks, cottons and natural fibers of Asia. Promoting natural dyes and handcrafted textiles and handcrafted fashion accessories, the EO label is a leader in Eco-Fashion, Sustainable Fashion and Slow Fashion,” Edric Ong said in an interview when discussing his label.

The label’s most recent collection features innovative designs in the realm of sustainable fashion. With the inspiration “Off the Loom,” the brand styled uncut cloths taken off the loom onto models. Such designs resulted in the most immaculate styles. “The Edric Ong 2022 Collection themed ‘Off the Loom’ features the exquisitely hand-woven natural dyed ikat textiles known as ‘Pua Kumbu’ of Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo. With artistic drapery techniques, the uncut cloth is fashioned on the models; taken off the loom after they are woven,” Edric said.

Edric Ong also worked with other craft communities to create the elaborate hats and eye-catching beadwork accessories featured in the collection. Such accessories complete the collection, offering unique textures and shapes that are a feast for the eyes.

“It is our hope that the international viewers will appreciate the beauty of the hand-woven Ikat textiles of our community of Iban women weavers; and that the ‘uncut’ cloth taken ‘off the loom’ can be fashionably draped and worn in many versatile ways,” Edric said.

Edric Ong is certain to achieve that goal. With gorgeous patterns and excellent drapery, the collection is sure to inspire viewers to appreciate the handmade magnificence of the label’s community of weavers.
