The Town I loved so well” | For Autumn/Winter 2023, Paul Costelloe has taken his inspiration from James Joyce’s Ulysses. This novel, along with the Poolbeg Chimneys, are iconic structures of Dublin, past and present.

The collection is very much a modern rendering of the period, using the most beautiful fabrics of Ireland, and Italy where James Joyce lived for many years. Woven cloth of silver by William Clarke of Derry, is presented in narrative prints festooned with scenes from Ulysses, and long tailored coats, skirts and highly structured fitted jackets from Magees in Donegal, and Emblem Weavers in Wexford.Twisted yarn knitwear mixed in with rich velvets and lush brocades bring an opulence and vitality to this exceptional collection. Paul Costelloe Bags are presented in large, soft leather slouch bags, tweed and leather satchels, and distressed leather crossovers.

This season we are very lucky to be working with three outstanding jewellery houses. Pebble of London for old-gold celtic wraps, Bláithín Ennis of Ireland for delicate, net ropes and architect Angela Brady with bespoke, fused glass pieces inspired by Autumnal in-house prints. All three houses presenting masterpieces that evoke this celebration of Irish creativity.

“This is a celebration of Dublin that was, Dublin that is, and the city I love so well” Paul Costelloe
