The multi award-winning documentary Piano To Zanskar follows 65-year-old London piano maker Desmond O’Keeffe as he endeavours to deliver a piano from his piano repair shop in Camden Town, London, to the village school in Lingshed, a remote community high up in the Indian Himalayas.
Navigating dangerous mountain passes, wayward Sherpas and some of the most stunning scenery in the world, Desmond’s journey to Lingshed captures spiritual resilience, passion for music, the unrelenting progress of civilisation, and the beauty of nature.
If successful, the expedition will be the highest piano delivery in the world. More importantly, it will be the ultimate gesture of music’s universal power: to inspire strength and bring joy.
Can they make it?
Piano To Zanskar features an original music score by Werner Herzog collaborator Ernst Reijseger (Cave of Forgotten Dreams).
