ROHMIR launches Russian Mosaics, it’s Autumn/Winter Collection for 2020-21, at London Fashion Week

The ROHMIR catwalk show was held on Friday 14 February 2020 victoria House, Blooms bury Square, London, WC1B 4DAand was attended by 250 people, including VIPs such as TV presenter Nick Knowles.

Olga Roh, the creative director, said “The ‘Russian Mosaics’ is my latest Autumn/Winter 2020-21 collection for ROHMIR. It’s a very personal review of the beautiful souvenirs of my native country, where I was born. The music and the performance from “Petrushka”, the ballet, by Stravinsk, introduced us to the world of the dance and grace, followed by the catwalk featuring my favourite very feminine soft touch looks such as:

  • the’Rubashka’ (long / short-dress),
  • the ‘Touloupe’, a warm sheepskin worn as a winter jacket or coat with the fur lining and collar;
  • the ‘Quadrille’ dance dress with ruffles. A body-slimming, very sharp shaped reinvented version for an end of the once en vogue; the reinvented traditional dress; a palette of shimmering, blurred fabrics of the outfits, almost performed with impressionistic brushes.”

“These pieces should take you on a winter’s evening walk through a brightly-lit street to a fun folk festival. From the fine lace of Vologda or Viatka, the Zhostovo metal painting handicraft, Palekh lacquer miniature, Khokhloma wood painting, Kholuy and Fedoskino decorated flowers, the folk Gzhel painting in marvellous blue and white roses and last but not least the rich world of the famous Pavlovo-Posad shawls. All this is a part of something called ‘Russian Soul’ which became the core of the collection. “
