Skylight Rooftop, known for its panoramic and uninterrupted views across London’s skyline, will be opening its doors for its belated and long-awaited summer season on Saturday 4th July 2020 at midday. After a long period of isolation, Londoners will finally be able to meet up with friends at one of the city’s favourite outdoor venues, soak up the sun and enjoy food, drink and good times in a safe, clean, open-air environment.
In preparation for its summer re-opening, the Skylight management team have been continuously monitoring government guidance and have worked with a leading health & safety consultant to devise a robust Covid-secure operational system.
Skylight will be temporarily pausing bookings for its iconic rooftop lawn games. This allows further flexibility across its sun-drenched seating area for greater physical distancing. Tables will now all be bookable, with reservations from £10 per table, and guests will need to have secured a booking in advance in order to enter the venue, ensuring controlled numbers. Full table service for all guests will be a new feature while distancing measures are in place, with drinks collection points located at the end of each table with contactless payment throughout the venue. There will be a simple one-way system for guests throughout the venue as well as a controlled stairway, and Skylight’s cleaning staff will be working hard to maintain the necessary standards.
Social distancing will not detract from the venue’s unique atmosphere and fun, colourful vibe. An exciting addition to the Summer 2020 offering will be the tropical beer terrace by Mexican pale lager brand Corona, situated on Skylight’s highest level and boasting some of the best views in the city. The new terrace has had a tropical makeover, featuring lush green foliage, cushioned seating areas and garden booths, an Instagram swing-set and a pop-up bar serving pints of ice cold, refreshing lager.
This summer will also welcome an all new in-house food offering, with Hikari offering fresh Asian dishes, and State Side serving up the very best in American inspired indulgence. Skylight’s three bars will be offering an array of beers, wines and spirits as well as an all-new seasonal cocktail menu, which will feature refreshing and fruity concoctions. All delivered to the table and perfect for sunshine sipping.
