Elena Viete is based in Reims, where she works designing clothes. She likes to define herself as a sculptor who would come to carve the bodies of women. Her collections are the product of her experimentation and creativity. Her goal is to create outfits with unusual materials combining “traditional” sewing with craftsmanship.

The Champagne Outfits of the pictures is a tribute to her adopted region by using one of its symbols: Champagne. Usually served in a cup, she decided to honor the Champagne’s bottle creating dresses with its packing materials, she recycled merchandising materials and avoided the trash to instead, create sparkling outfits! Each element used has been once a champagne’s piece, so using these different materials – from the muselet to the capsules, to the sleeve and the stopper, she created evening dresses. These dresses adapted to the human body look like armor, while using the different properties that the materials allowed her to explore another dimension, some of these outfits required more than 300 hours of work and 2,500 pieces a lot of bottles of Champagne …bottoms up!
